Backtracking slightly-Momentum

So a bit ago, last week I think! -seems like alot longer ago, went to Shepton Mallet with Sarah and Helen. There were quite a few things against us really but in spite of this God did some incredible things and it was really cool to spend more time with my friends. Before and after the event stayed at Sarahs house and got to see where she lives and meet her family which was cool, although I was quite tired. Watched 'House' for the first time, saw Ikea for the first time as an older person and saw 'The Bull Ring' for the first time-niave girl that I am. But I live in the Lake District so what dya expect people?! lol! And got to see lovely Gemma again-hadnt seen her all summer and altho it was only for 2 hours or something it was really nice.

When I got back from Momentum wrote loads of stuff down that God had been doing and then crashed out and felt generally rubbish for about a week. But I think thats to be expected really after something so spiritually,emotionally intense, there is often an anti-climax and think Ive manged to remain in God.

Shipwreck we visited on a cruise around the island. It had incredible white sand and turquoise water which we got to swim in.

Err we went to a Greek night and this was one of the musicians who provided the errm entertainment! Well he kept us entertained but not sure about the music lol!

Lovely bank holiday

Just had a lovely day out in the lakes with my family, apart from my sister who was working. We went to a lake at the furthest end of the lake district, which meant driving through all the other lovely parts before getting to it. When we arrived, I was a bit like, 'so this is it? hmm'. But then we got walking and found this opening in the trees right by the lake, with a rope swing(which I appreciated) and more importantly the most amazing view. Cos its a bit out of the way, there are hardly any people around and its so incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Aww feel all nice and relaxed now.

Well just bk from York and two days til i'm off again! Went down to sort my house out, but nt to actually move in. Bought a new mirror, duvet and bedspread and light shade thingy for my bedroom. Quite liking it now, although it still looks very bare and white and our landlady isnt keen on us putting things on the walls-oh well, as long as I leave it how I found it, it will all be fine. Not sure I like our landlady and Lydia hs resorted to calling her 'Mad One!' instead of Madeleine, hee hee!! There were quite a few things that needed sotring out when we moved in and she seemed quite irritated by this. Hmm! Well we will pray for her:)

Four days til momentum-WooWoo!! Am well excited to spend some quality time with God and my friends and have a feeling there is alot God has planned for this coming week:) To be honest have been struggling a bit in all things spiritual recently. I think its to be expected really when you get usedto a busy routine of christian things at uni and then go home and feel a little disconected. I've really been missing church, Vineyard, as havent been all summer and feel a bit wierd about going back.

But have my church in Kendal and is such an encouragement to see what God has been doing there and to know I will always have somehwere to go back to where I am loved. Have been involved in the worship band again whcich is so cool, as worship is my passion!!

Next summer I think I'm gonna spend longer in York and me and Gemma are looking at going on mission, which'll be ace, praying for God to guide us and confirm that its his will and that He will show us where to go. Hmm, I'm being very reflective and this is becoming a very long blog, ah well.

Laganas-land of the lost

Well I is finally home. Had such an amazing time. Zakinthos is such a beautiful place and experienced so much, but it was also a real eye opener and found myself incredibly challenged by certain things lol!!

So the resort we stayed in was Laganas which is basically the clubbing part of the island. But we were staying in a quieter part of the resort in what was advertised as a 'family' hotel. But being Laganas in the busy season, was swamped with crazy drunk ppl, mainly under 20! So although we avoided the craziness as much as possible, it was impossible to avoid it all together.

Its so sad when you look at the majority of peoples lives in a place like that. Everything is so empty and superfitial. People spend their whole summer there working as PR's, advertising bars and clubs, so they can spend there summer drinking etc. I found it so hard to feel Gods presence there and to stand for Him and at times I'm pretty sure I didnt. But I know that in our hotel our family stood out as being different somehow and I hope that poeple noticed that and maybe evan think about why.

Was gonna write something else but not sure how to write it on here as I'm exhausted and my brain won't function, nevermind!

Hey, Well two days left now and this week has been so good.

Yesterday went on a cruise round the island. Went to a shipwreck with turqoise sea and white sand. Also stopped for some swimming in open sea. The guy making announcem,ents on the cruise was like, "You can walk off the boat until you are swimming!" So thats waht we did, was so much fun.

Today we went to another beach and so lots of marine/tropical fish. Borrowed my dads snorkels to get a better look at them. They were amazing.

Woo am in Zante!! So exciting!! Never written from an internet cafe and prob wont again. Dont have much time left!

Well been here nearly a week now and it is such a beautiful island. Dont really have time to tell you everything but having an amazing time and may write more later. xxx
